Day 4:
July 15, 2008

Konbanwa,

Kokubu Nursing Home Today is our last day here at Kokubu. We have had such an incredibly blessed time here. This morning the Lord opened up an opportunity for us to minister at a nursing home near the church. This was not in our original plans, but we are welcoming each and every opportunity that the Lord provides! Please keep praying for the Lord to open up doors and opportunities to spread the gospel while we are here.

Our program at the Nursing home was about 45 min long. They asked specifically for Naomi to share her testimony again
(the testimony about her sister and us being adopted and loved by Christ). We had problems with our music skipping very badly. We covered it up well in the first song. Kokubu Nursing Home But the CD skipped so badly (skipping randomly to different parts of the song) in the 2nd dance that we ended up doing a follow along, with big smiles on our faces! We were in the next room, praying so hard over the sound. They changed the CD player and we had minor problems after that. Praise the Lord! He was in control, things could have been much worse. The songs that skipped so badly were in English the Japanese songs went very smoothly. In other words the songs they could clearly understand, had hardly any problems, and the ones in English we just kept worshiping and they were looking at our faces not the skipping lyrics. Praise our Almighty God!

I can`t tell you how much we enjoyed this time of ministry. Looking out into the sweet faces of these people who desperately need to know their Savior. We were able to visit with people afterwards shaking their hands (or holding them, because some of them didn`t want to let go). We talked to one lady who was brought to tears by Naomi`s testimony. She said that she could sense the love of God through our smiles. We are praying for the residents, and for the staff at the nursing home. That they would have a
stirring begin in their hearts, thirsting for the Lord Jesus Christ.

Shannon and Ami, the pastor's wife This afternoon, they took us up to a beautiful mountain area with a dairy farm. We ate the best ice-cream ever and had lots of fun enjoying the beautiful views and the company. We love spending time with the pastors and church members here, listening to their stories and sharing in their passion for Christ.

This evening we had a big dinner with all the main people who have been so kind to us during our stay. We said our goodbyes to most of them as we will be leaving in the morning for Minamata.

We pray that the Lord would richly bless these wonderful people as they tirelessly serve our King. They would really like us to come back again soon, and we would feel honored to minister with them again!

Our next adventures start tomorrow!
We will update you again soon!
