Day 2:
July 13, 2008
Konichiwa!
We hope you are all doing well back home, and we thank you so much for your prayers!
Yesterday was Sunday, July 13th and we had the opportunity to dance and speak
at the church service here at Kokubu Church. We were excited to see some
of the new people who had attended our Saturday concert, come to church the
next day. Praise the Lord! We danced to one song in Japanese
and Hannah and Alyssa danced to "Come to Jesus". Naomi shared about her sister
Hannah`s adoption and how that relates to us being adopted into the family
of God. She talked about the Lord`s intense love for us and His desire to
be our Father. In the pastor`s message that morning, he tied in things that
we had shared about in our testimonies the night before, and talked about
worship, repentance and finding your identity in Christ. At the end of the
service we danced to a
hymn, as the congregation sang. There was one couple there that day, that
they had been trying to get to come to the church for a really long time.
For lunch they had a potluck, we got to eat yummy food, and try new things.
We got to hear different people stand up and share about themselves and they
thanked us dearly for coming. Everyone here has been so good to us. They
have taken wonderful care of us and have been a joy to minister along side
of.
In
the afternoon they took us to Sakurajima, a huge volcano about 45min away.
It used to be a separate island, then in 1914 there was a major eruption.
The lava flowed for months, which ended up connecting the island to this
part of Japan. It was such a beautiful drive and breathtaking views. Again
reminding us of the Lord`s awesome power and might!
That
evening we had a delicious BBQ with people from the church! I love Japanese
BBQs! It was a really fun time talking and spending time with these wonderful
people, who love the Lord and the people of Japan so much!
God has been so good to us our first days here. So much has happened that
we feel like it has been a lot longer then 3 days! The Lord has truly sustained
us. Our jet lag, fatigue and injuries have not been holding us back from
anything He has asked us to do. Please continue to pray for Naomi`s back,
it has been hurting her badly off and on. And for Gwen and Hannah`s ankles.
We thank each one of you for lifting us up in prayer, what a blessing you are to each of us!
For His Mighty Name!
