- There are only 2.1 people per
1,000 who attend a worship service
- There are many family and
cultural pressures to conform in this group-oriented society, making it
difficult to stand up for their faith
- From 2003 to 2005, the number of
baptisms in Japan decreased by 17%
- There is one Japanese suicide
every 15 minutes
- 84% to 96% of Japanese loosely
adhere to Shinto, Buddhism & ancestor worship
- Churches anticipate a large
shortage of Christian pastors in the near future, as many post-war
pastors have reached retirement age

40% are over 60, and close to 70% are over 50
- There are not enough younger
pastors to fill these vacant spots. Pray the Lord of the Harvest will
raise up new workers

find ways to reach youth and men

term missions
